Dumplings / 餃子 | Directing

2020, 7:28

Director of Photography: Christian Yves Jones

Seemingly quotidian, there is more than meets the eye. Dumpling skin without the filing is like a coin with only one side. It is two rivers continuously meeting. It is everything and it is nothing. It is that thought on the tip of your tongue, forever receding from site, never to be found. This is a visual mediation on how we hold two and distinct things in tandem, to fully inhabit two different, sometimes seemingly opposite spaces.

Premiered at F-O-R-M (Festival of Recorded Movement) September 12-19th, Honourable Mention for Most Moving Film presented by Scotiabank’s Dance Centre.
